| Talamanca is in the southeast region of Costa Rica. It was never dominated by the Spaniards, reasons for this are among others, the rugged terrain, the stubbornness of the people from the Bri Bri Nation and Cabecar ethnic group that fought fiercely against the white man domination. |

| Today, Talamanca is still untamed, probably will always be, nature here is something real, true in many different forms. |

| We are not only talking of biodiversity in which this region achieves an outstanding level, but specially we like to consider the culture of these natives from where in many ways, we, the people from the western culture, may learn about not only ethnobotany but from other aspects of life. |
